Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few weeks, you will have heard about the crisis that is the Coronavirus. This pandemic has totally flipped the world on its head and impacted the lives of millions of people. It is vital that we all follow the guidance of doctors and the government to protect the lives of individuals. That means we must practice safe social distancing for the time being. However, this does not mean that we have to lock ourselves at homes and binge watch series on Netflix. We have put together a list of safe outdoor activities individuals can do to keep their sanity. We will consider it a success if we can prevent just one fight over toilet paper from happening.

Remember, however, that no matter how safe you believe an activity is, you cannot be too cautious. The Coronavirus is highly contagious. Always be sure to keep at least 6 feet from everyone, avoid touching your face and continuously wash your hands throughout the day.

Lake yoga during coronavirus

Yoga to destress during coronavirus

Yoga is one of the most beneficial movement practices you can do for your overall health and well-being. It has been shown in countless studies to reduce stress and anxiety.  I do not know about you, but I think the world needs some de-stressing. The greatest thing about yoga is that you do not have to go to a fancy yoga studio with crowds of people to practice it. Yoga may be done anywhere, and most importantly right now, remotely. There are tons of apps out there that you can watch to guide you. One of our favorites is Down Dog. So turn off the TV, roll out your yoga mat and get moving.

Cycling through Quarantine

Now is a great time to grab that dusty old bike from the garage, which let’s be honest you have not touched in years, and take it for a ride. Bike riding is a perfect way to not only get exercise, but to also enjoy your surroundings from a safe distance away from people. You can explore your city, neighborhood, or local parks in a quiet and scenic ride. Use it as a time to escape your crazy coronavirus quarantine family and buzzing electronics so you can get some relaxing time with yourself. So grab that dorky helmet and get going!

Running during Coronavirus

Even though your favorite gym is closed, you can still get that awesome workout in, and the best part, it’s free! So, go grab your sneakers and headphones and head out your front door. Take advantage of the warming weather and go on a run around your neighborhood or city. Maybe take a new route you’ve never before explored. And the best part, you will be fit enough to outrun zombies when the next crisis occurs.
