Weedon Island is a 3,800 acre nature preserve located less than 20 minutes from downtown Tampa and St. Pete. It is a vital part of Tampa Bay, and has some of the longest mangrove tunnels on a contiguous paddling trail in the world! Weedon Island Preserve is one of the most visited Pinellas County nature preserves, and we encourage all guests to book their kayak rental via our online platform in advance of your visit as ECOmersion often sells out of kayaks and paddle boards! Weedon Island is heavily impacted by tidal conditions. It is important to look at the tides for Weedon Island Preserve, as a minimum of 1’ of water is needed to make it through the mangrove tunnels.
